Syncing Multi XL1's for editing in Premiere 5.1 Can't Post

When shooting long productions like a 90 minute 4 act play, with 3 mini DV cameras, I long for a common timecode sync when editing it all together later.
For example a common black burst, or SMPTE sync signal which could be cabled to each camera (and input on an audio channel?) so that they all were easier to match later on when imported into Premiere. Including a seperate audio recorder such as a DAT or ADAT, to serve as the master audio record device.
Instead, now, what I am having to do is capture the clips from each cameras DV tape, and slide them around on the timeline to match up their audio tracks/ waveforms, as best as possible. I designate one camera's audio track as the MASTER audio track, usuually the center camera, then try to match the other cameras to that common waveform.
Not as good as haing a common frame accurate time code for all.
Is there a way to do this with XL1's? Suggestions anyone?
Thank you.

Why not send your time code signal to three separate smart slates (production slates w/SMPTE TC Display), one per camera position, then re-assign each camera roll's starting time code (in Premiere) based on this visual display?
