UMAX ruled out for video? Can't Post

I have a UMAX S900 with 160 MB of RAM and two hard drives, etc. My plan is to upgrade it to a 350 mhz G3. And I bought a FireWire card for it.
I asked some questions about using it for video to a rep from ProMAX. He said to forget the UMAX and don't bother upgrading it. Instead buy the $4895.00 package from him. I don't doubt that the G4 package would do a better job, but it seems reasonable to me that the S900 should work, given fast enough drives.
What advice do you have?

Ithink you might be able to do it, but it will prob take a bit of work. the main issue is prob mostly bus speed and general speed of the system (aside from the processor).
