Ithink you might be able to do it, but it will prob take a bit of work. the main issue is prob mostly bus speed and general speed of the system (aside from the processor).

: I have a UMAX S900 with 160 MB of RAM and two hard drives, etc. My plan is to upgrade it to a 350 mhz G3. And I bought a FireWire card for it.
: I asked some questions about using it for video to a rep from ProMAX. He said to forget the UMAX and don't bother upgrading it. Instead buy the $4895.00 package from him. I don't doubt that the G4 package would do a better job, but it seems reasonable to me that the S900 should work, given fast enough drives.
: What advice do you have?
