This is called the Mac Video Forum because it is where we discuss issues related to video on Apple Macintosh computers. A Mac is a unique computer that doesn't use Windows and hasn't used Adobe Premiere since version 5 or 6. We edit mostly on Final Cut or iMovie. You are certainly welcome to ask questions or comment, but it's kind of like taking your Ford sedan to a Volkswagon shop - we have different problems and do things differently. A proxy is a person or thing that represents someone or something else. If your lawyer goes to court to argue your case, he's your proxy - he speaks for you. In video, a proxy is (usually) a lower quality image that is used instead of the source because it can be handled more easily. It's not unusual for a proxy image to lose quality when it is altered. The quality is usually restored when the sequence of video is rendered. What really happens is that a new proxy is created. I have no idea when or where proxies are used in Premiere Pro, but many editing systems use proxies to speed things up. In virtually all cases, there is a "rendering" operation which restores the quality from the source. I can't tell you how or when to do this (since I don't have a computer or software like yours) but it's a good bet that if you render, the image quality will improve until you alter it again. Good luck. ______________________________________________________________ Currently on a loaded 2.5GHz G5 dualie/5GB/1TB internal RAID/dual 19" monitors. Final Cut Studio, Adobe Suite, Boris RED.
