No, not obsolete at all. Plenty for dv editing.
Just make sure you have enough RAM and storage.
The Apple card is cheap - and there's a reason.
You can't do much with it out of the box, and it
doesn't support video-playthrough.
Check into solutions by Promax and Digital Origin.
They have card/software bundles that would work well
with your machine.

ive read some about that motodv. it sounds like it would be cool.
i have a 9500+g3/266
18 gigs HD space for a/v
i know i have at least 200m of ram ill probably get more
the motodv capture card will work in my computer you say???
i need to make a 3.5 minute video for my band,
and also long vhs videos for GT bicycles trick riding team.
i dont want to get what wont work in this computer
and im still unclear about the output aspect(for vhs copies or straight to camcorder).
and unclear about the codecs aspect.
Im assuming i update the codecs to fit my config
much like drivers and new hardware!?!
thanks and any help would be appreciated!!Jared.
