dvMatte Pro program Can't Post

Does anyone have experience with this program

DvMatte Pro ?

I downloaded the AE FCP program but can not see it in my FCP Effects folder.

I've tried several times to install it.
I can see the plugin in my Library>AppSupport>FCP>plugins folder but still nothing inside FCP.

The website does not have a phone number to call and no one has responded to my e'mail.
Thanks for any information.

Hi Terry,

Are you using FCP 5 or 6? There is a good chance that this filter hasn't been updated to work with 5 and its almost certainly not been updated for 6. This review seems to state that version 1.5 will work for fcp 5 but the DVMatte information only says fcp 4.

http://www.lafcpug.org/reviews/review_dvmatte_pro.html

Just in case it is there and you're just not seeing it click inside the effects browser and hit Apple + f. In the lower right corner of the search box that come up type in dvMatte and then click the button 'Find All'. Sometimes filters put themselves in places you wouldn't expect them to be...

Re: [Joel] dvMatte Pro program [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for the response Joel.

So it looks like I screwed up by trying to install this particular program.

After frantically searching their website and forums, I found the DVBlast program. A much cheaper program (that I should have purchased first) and works like a charm.

It's amazing how well it keys out the unevenly lit, wrinkled green screen in our capture.

Chris from dvGarage e'mailed me suggesting I re-install FCP and/or try their new Beta version optimized for FCP 5 and higher.

But actually, the dvBlast version is all I need.

What do you think are my chances of being reimbursed for the version that I cannot install?

Another mac lesson learned for me.

Hi Terry,

I'd love to see what you're using the green screen for after its done. Sounds interesting.

Absolutely worth a try.

Re: [Joel] dvMatte Pro program [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm putting together our first green screen interview right now.
Since it's my first one it's taking me forever. Trying to keep it interesting and working with the subjects mannerisms and a voice that trails off at the end of her sentences. She doesn't want to be a talking head so I'm looking for appropriate photos to mix in also.

As soon as it's done I'll send you the link.
