I have the following set-up: Umax Supermac J700 with Sonnet Cresendo G3- 250 Mhz upgrade card 2 Gig internal SCSI drive ( about 800 meg left ) OS 9.04 Western Digital Firewire card 20 gig Western Digital Firewire Hard Drive Canon Elura DV iMovie (downloaded from Apple site) 152 Meg RAM ( about 60 meg allocated to iMovie ) All extensions turned off except the essentials Rebuilt my desktop by pressing apple key and ctrl during boot-up I am able to download from the Canon Elura and edit etc using the firewire Hard Drive. But when I tried to upload to the Elura I got a message that say either the HD was not fast enough or the process was interupted after a couple seconds of spotty upload. It did upload may be a second worth of good movies then things broke up. Since I am able to download without dropped frames, I assume the reverse is also true. I am very sure that the firewire Hard Drive is capable of the bandwidth required. I spot checked about 20 min of continous download and found no dropped frames ( by using the right and left arrow keys ). I noticed that with the iMovies idle, there was a constant activities on the main drive ( cliking sound once a second ). This may be culprit. Do you have any suggestion what I can try ?. Thanks in advance.
