I found out that IMovie 8 don't have an effect section and you have to download imovie06 for those who was wondering.

There is a lot of things you can't do in the new iMovie. I only use it for photo montages because the Ken Burns Effect is easier than keyframing each picture in FCP.

Once you have FCP you won't ever need iMovie for anything. FCP is so easy to use.

How come you didn't get 6? Did you buy it used?

FCP is really easy. First thing to do is learn your keyboard shortcuts. A, B, Z, S, N, R are your most important keys.

Re: [MVLV] imovie 7 [In reply to] Can't Post

The new iMovie '08 in iLife '08 is horrible. They should have jsut renamed it HomeMovie '08. I use FCP for my wedding ceremonies because of the multiclip function since i use 2-3 cameras for the ceremony. I use iMovie '06 if I have a quick simple project to just rip out real fast. But I think Apple new a lot of people would not like the new iMovie '08. Because if you already had iMovie '06 then bought and installed iLife '08, it does not uninstall the iMovie '06. Instead it places it in a file called "previous iMovie" (or a name similar to that). I have several discs of plug-in for iMovie '06 from Slick, but they are not compatible with the new iMovie '08, but they will work still with the iMovie '06 after Apple places it in the new folder. But I think I had to reinstall the plug-ins from Slick after the update to iLife "08.
