The Avid Cinema package from Avid works just fine. If you have one of the old tan PMG3s with the video in and out you can just buy the software -- around $130. Look at buying a good video in out card if you can. Get one that supports at least 720 and 30 frames/sec. Adobe's Premiere is around $999, but is more powerful -- and harder to use. I've been using Cinema for about a month now. It's easy to use. Just bring in clips, arrange them in an order you want, trim them up, add effects like fade ins, etc. and even add a music bed. The hardest part for me (because I don't have video out on my iMac,) is getting the files on zip disks and dragging them over to a friend's house to export to video!!! Figure about 100meg per min of film. Have fun. Mike
