A "Favor" for a friend of my wife... Can't Post

I have been asked by my wifes best friend, to take 50 VHS tapes (1.5 hours each) of "Family" functions and edit them and transfer them to DVD. My question is, How much should I charge for this?? I don't want to "overcharge" and have her upset at my wife and I don't want to do this for almost nothing as it will consume alot of time for me over the next couple of weeks. So, what I'm looking for here, I guess, would be the "happy" medium that would satisfy both parties. Any help you guys (and gals) could give me would be greatly appreciated. I edit using IMovie...transfers will be to IDVD...she wants your "basic" edit...no music...a few transitions...

I will do it for $100.00 per hour, for the first day, and $75.00per hour for each hour after that.

I have a standalone dvd recorder. At the highest setting, I can record 1 full hour onto DVD. It gives me the ability to separate video into different sections which then can be accessed by different buttons on the menu. You can get dvds online for about $1 which you should thoroughly test before using. Just make sure you don't get a crappy brand. You can get a decent dvd recorder for around $700 or $800 at Best Buy or other Electronic outlets. Make sure that you get a DVD-R recorder though and not a DVD+R recorder. Unless she just absolutely has to have fancy menus created by you, then I see no better way to get that much stuff onto DVD at any kind of reasonable price. Hope this is helpful.

Send her to Wal-Mart. They'll do it for about $15 - 20 per tape.
