Back-Up Sound Can't Post

Hi, I'm ready to buy an Mp3 for the following puposes:
-to back up sound at weddings and other events
-for personal use

I want 60GB at least. The Mp3 player needs to have a large storage capacity and a mic-in hole in order to record the vows etc at the church.

-Is there any particular lapel microphone that would go with the particular model(s) you would suggest?

-Where is the best place you've come across when it comes to buying Mp3 players?
-Looking for something around 400Euro (roughly 500 dollars)
-Are there any drawbacks you have ever experienced using an Mp3 player as a back-up device?
-Is iRiver the best there is or are there new and better models out there?

Would appreciate the feedback. Thanks.

as backing up is always a great idea, backing up sound does not seem to be of much use. i would remmomend getting a cheap video camera and placing it as a wide so if yours fails you can retreve it.

Would it not be wise to back up your sound in case your wireless mic and transmitter/receiver failed to communicate for a few minutes during the ceremony. Or for any other unforseeable event?

Do you mean get a cheap miniDV camera and placing it in a wide angle position (even better - beside your actual good camera) and capture just the image with no sound in case something goes wrong? If something went wrong with your sound, then two images - one strong, one poor - isn't going to help much.

half right. get a dv cam. WITH A MIC to pic up the "loose" sound (not as good mind you) but it would help in the event on a failure.
