Finding Actors Can't Post

What are some good ways of finding actors for commercials, corporate videos, etc.? Is SAG the way to go, or not necessarily? Thank you for your input...

Re: Finding Actors Can't Post

Call and visit local theater groups. Get to know some of the people.
Then network through them. I've had very good luck with this approach.
Recently I asked an actress friend to help me cast two roles.
She came up with a number of very talented actors and actresses.
I cast two of them the same day. You might want to read my book
"Marketing With Video" which explains this in more detail.

Re: Finding Actors [In reply to] Can't Post

Assuming you live in a fairly populated area there are probably a number of talent agents in your area. There job is to provide talent for productions. We use agents almost exclusivly for all our productions because they will take care of a lot of the leg work for you. If you live in a "right to work" state, you don't need to use SAG members and you can negoiate pricing based on budget restraints.

If you live in LA check out a publication called Backstage West. It's also available in NY, Chicago, Vegas and Miami. In NY i think its called Backstage East. I'm not sure what its call in those other cities.
