Hal's Resource Guide Can't Post

In Hal's Resource Guide, it says:
The examples cited in National/Regional Distribution Case Studies are excerpted from "An Idea Guide to Marketing With Video" published by The Duplication Factory. This guide contains a number of other success stories you will want to read. For more information see pages 217 of Marketing With Video.
But then on page 217 there is no reference to this. There is, of course, a website for the Duplication Factory, but nothing there about a guide.

Anyone know where I can get this guide?

Another question... The booklet that should be offered after the postcard is returned... am I right to assume that this should be in 8.5 x 11 format, since it will have sample contracts included? I was originally going to do it in 4.25 x 5.5 size and saddle-staple it, but since it needed the contracts included, I'm thinking of the larger format.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: [FilmworksGuy] Hal's Resource Guide [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Charles,

The Duplication Factory no longer publishes that booklet. I believe you have the first edition of my course Professional Video Producer. There is a new completely revised second edition of both the course and the book Marketing With Digital Video. All of the examples of marketing videos have been updated.

As far as publishing the other booklet I have in the course, there are many was to do it. You might want to spend some time with your local printer who can advise you on the costs of different sized booklets. These days some publishing software can use computer printers to print booklets like that on both sides and in the correct order.

The first time I published it, I did so on plain white 11 x17 paper (8.5 x 11 when folded). I wasn't thrilled with the results and later got some help from an advertising guy who showed my how to make it 5.5 x 8.5 and print on glossy paper for less cost. There are a lot of interesting ways to do this booklet, but the most important thing is for the booklet to get your foot in the door.

Give a call if I can help you.

Re: [hlanden] Hal's Resource Guide [In reply to] Can't Post

Hal,

Thanks for your answer. I can design, print and bind these books right at home, and they'll look as good as anyone else can do them. I'm a computer graphics artist as well as a video nut, and I've got the printers to make them look good. However, what I was really wondering about was the size. If the booklet includes sample contracts, shouldn't the booklet then be 8 1/2 x 11, so that the reader can view the contracts in their original size? If it were 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, then the contracts would be very small.

Oh, by the way, I have the 1999 version of your Professional Video Producer study guide and resource guide that I bought two years ago. Very nice indeed. You say there is a newer version?

Also, I have the second edition of your book Marketing With Digital Video.

Thanks!
