Is this trademark infringement? Can't Post

So a buddy of mine who's a firearms instructor and works armored security and I have been toying with the idea of producing some video's covering firearm maintenence, since he can't find any for his company that are worth anything. My question is, would I be infringing on anyone's trademark by using their firearms without getting permission first? Specifically, if I want to show the proper way to care for and store brand X firearm, do I need to get permission from X's manufacturer first?

1. For something that critical, I would ask an attorney. You will want one anyway to make sure you cover all the possible liability issues.

2. If he tells you to get mfr permission, that could be a good thing. They may even underwrite the production or help you sell it.

Good Luck.

Galt's advice is good. Most companies are happy to get the publicity of third party instructional videos, provided their products are presented in a good light. For firearms, not only would I want to get the company's permission to show their product, but I'd want their technical experts to review the finished piece to make sure you're not giving any advice that would 1) hurt the weapon or 2) endanger the user.

Hello Doug... your reply is a very resourceful post...

Uhmm... could be applied to all products? or do you think there is a category of products that does not need a similar procedure?
