Local Commercials Can't Post

I'm in the beginning stage of a small wedding/event videography business with my wife as my partner. We both have TV production experience and are excited at the prospect of earning extra money doing what we love (i.e. shooting/editing/writing/producing). We have and continue to invest in the gear we need to get this thing off to a good start. My question is how many of you out there dip into your local markets as far as producing local commericals goes? I have a friend in another market who has been quite successful shooting commericals. I don't want my gear sitting around collecting dust in the wedding offseason. Has anyone out there had success doing both? Which is more lucrative? I love shooting/editing. Doesn't matter what it is...just love to shoot and love making money doing it.

Re: [STOUTHEARTED] Local Commercials [In reply to] Can't Post

Local Commercials is how we keep going in the off season. Just this past year we started playing around wiht non wedding video work. It has the potential to make us as much if not more then weddings do. Go for it!
