Merging dupe biz with wedding biz Can't Post

Hi fellas!
I'm new here and already have enjoyed what I've read. Here's my dilema. I'm eager to merge a duplication service with my wedding biz but not sure if I should invest in the standard vhs/vcr player/recorders or a higher end professional vhs duplicator such as the JVC BR-7000UR VCR, is there a big difference in quality?

Most folks in this level of the video "food chain" use hi fi VHS consumer decks in their duplication racks (I do, too). However, I've read that the professional duplicators have a much wider track, which improves the signal quality and greatly reduces the chance of a tape not playing correctly in a client's machine due to tracking differences or head misalignments.
The problem is cost. Professional duplicators cost $1,500-2,500 each, while the consumer decks are throwaway items at $200 or less. If you can find a bargain in pro machines, or don't need many of them, I'd think about going that route...it'd give you a quality and a marketing advantage over your competition. But the cost difference is just so large that most will wind up going with good quality consumer decks.
Regards,
Doug Graham

Thanxs for the tip! The reason I'm asking, besides wanting a dupe
biz, is that i found a cool site (ondecktrading.com) where they
sell refurbished, warranted pro duplicator decks at good prices
(under $1000), also available on e-bay, so i thought I'd give one
a try. Anyone have feedback on this site? If not check it out and
may your biz prosper with all the blessings!!
Thanxs!
William
