DV video is data recorded on tape. When transferred via Firewire to one's PC hard drive, the data becomes a DV .avi file. If one wishes to store the DV .avi on a DVD disc, then one could do any of the following: 1. Copy the DV .avi file to a DVD-RAM disc using simple drag and drop; 2. Use a data DVD program to burn the DV .avi file to a DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW disc; 3. Convert the DV .avi file into MPEG and then author the resulting file to disc using an authoring program. In addition, there are programs - such as Ulead MediaStudio Pro - that will transcode DV video to MPEG-2 on the fly and record the MPEG file directly to a DVD disc in real time. Here's the features list for Ulead MediaStudio Pro: http://www.ulead.com/msp/new.htm Jerry Jones http://www.jonesgroup.net
