Need Product Introduction Shoot advice Can't Post

My main business is videography. I was approached by a company that needs a videographer and a photographer to cover a product introduction at a large convention. I want to cover both aspects: photography and vicdeography. What's a safe way to hire a photographic team to cover the photo aspect of the shoot. It's a three day event and I'm going to need them for 6-8 hours a day. A celebrity will be taking pictures with the attendees therefore they are expecting over 2000 + pictures and 100 + candid shots.

How do I price such a shoot?
What costs should I factor in?
What equipment should I factor in?
What questions should I ask the prospected phtographer?

How much would you normally charge for such a shoot?

As far as the video:
I have to produce a 3-5min. video by the end of the event to be shown to the attendees.
What costs should I factor in?

How much would you normally charge for such a shoot?

I must submit a proposal asap.

Thanks for your help?

JC there are alot of photographers who cover events like this. Do a search for corporate event photographers. You need to ask your clients some questions pertaining to the use of these photos, and what format they want the photos in. Many photographers retain all rights to the photos. Check with the photographer. Here in Florida we pay between $500 to $800.00 per 8 hour day for a photographer. You'll also need to provide meals and maybe a room to stay in. For 3 days, there may be a per diem that the photog charges.

For the video, it depends on the end use of the video and what you're covering. Is this a marketing piece for their new product, or something they'll use down the road? Do they need testimonials? Those ae very effective during an event. Can you cover simultaneous events with one camera and one crew, or do you need multiples? Are you shooting any speeches? Can you tie into a sound system ahead of time? Lay out a blueprint of the event as to what's going on and needs coverage for both video and stills.

Once you have the particulars, figure out the crew and equipment needs, your time, and how long it will take to edit. Then look at your profit. Are you happy with what you'll make for 3 days? Mark up your crew, photographer, and anything else. Good luck.
