Need ideas on what I can do Can't Post

I am from a small city in canada. We have a semi pro soccer team here. They have asked me in the past if I was interested in doing some video work.
I can't think of something that I can do that would make a little bit of money? Besides doing a "year in review " video, what else is there?
There are also a couple of night clubs that I have done the video work for during special events.
Again, I'm looking for a way to turn some of that time in dollars.

Any ideas? Please post

There must be a thousand things you can do with video, and lots of them can make you money. Here are a few:
- Year in review for your team. Expand this to cover the local high school sports teams, too.
- A weekly show on the team, or the latest game, for your local cable station. Do the commercials, too, and make money on them while they pay for the air time.
- Weddings. People in Canada get married, don't they?
- A sportsman's show. Hunting/fishing in your local area.
- Dance recitals
- cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, and square dance competitions
- Martial arts and bodybuilding competitions
- School plays
- School graduation video
- Video "photo albums"
- Transfer home movies to video, transfer video to DVD
- Video duplication service
- Video format conversion (NTSC to PAL, PAL to NTSC) service
- Hockey, eh?
- if you've got appropriate spare space, like a big garage, make a studio and rent out time. Rent your services for shooting and editing too.
- Special interest videos. For more ideas on how to make this work, I suggest Jon Cooksey's "subsidy video publishing" package, http://www.elitevideo.com
- General corporate video production. For this, see Hal Landen's course on this site, at http://www.videouniversity.com/course.htm

Thanks for all those ideas. I'm already doing wedding videos and working my way in the highschool seen. My questions was more directed at the 2 things I posted regarding the soccer team and the nightclub. neither of them run commercials so that's not an option. Any more ideas regarding the 2 I would love to hear.

Well, there's always the promo video, training video, and how-to-video.

For the soccer team they could make a video for prospective players to see, to make them want to join the team. Or, you could do a video of the prospect for the team to see if they want to ask that player to join.

I'm sure the team would like to see more attendance at their games, so you could do a video highlighting how good soccer is, what fun fans could have at a game, etc., and distribute those to schools, churches, etc.

The team could make a how-to video showing basics of soccer, finer points, etc., and give or sell them to the kids who play soccer.

They may need an orientation video for new players, new personnel, etc.

The bar could probably use a training video for new hires to make sure they understand all the codes and laws regulating bars. This is great for liability issues.

They may want to promote themselves to parts of the community that they don't reach. A good video could be mouth-watering. :)

Another good place for the bar's video would be with the local C of C. This bar, along with other establishments', could be included with a tourist mail-out.

The bar could also probably use a how-to mix drinks video, so that it's standardized across the board. Each employee could get one, and it could be added to as new drinks are added.

It's all about imagination. Cool
