Promo videos or Virtual tours? Can't Post

Has anyone dicovered what I have that say if you were going to do promo videos for resorts and lodges that most of these people are taking these company's up on vitual tours instead and it's way cheaper. How do you compete with these guys do I have to start learning how to do virtual tours?

Re: Promo videos or Virtual tours? Can't Post

I used to produce video tours for the local real estate industry and I have found
that as a whole, the realtors do not want to spend more than about $100
for a virtual (video) tour. My product is hands down far superior than
anything IPIX puts out, but the people just don't want to pay the extra
hundred or so dollars for my product.
To answer your question......I eventually had to shut down my video tour
business and just focus on my video production biz. The real estate
professionals seem to be nothing more than a bunch of tire kickers.
They all want something for nothing. "Yes, your product is far superior
to IPIX. I'll buy from you if you can get your price under
$100." (Actual Quote from a realtor)
If you want to get into a long, painful, high volume, low profit margin
business, then I'd worry about learning how to do virtual tours.
If you want to make some money and keep your dignity, I'd focus on chasing
commercial realtors or selling these hotel and resort people on the value
of having an actual promotional video, versus a simple distorted virtual tour.
A big selling point for us is that we tell our clients we can put
the promo video on a vhs, cd, dvd, their website, etc.etc.
Good Luck!! I wouldn't waste a lot of time though if you can't find the
proper market.
