Re: making bootleg videos Can't Post

Hey, Gene... F_ck You. You dont know sh_t. I am very into concert bootlegs, both audio and video.\
Did you know that the majority of bands are not against and actually encourage these types of recordings?
Especially the smaller bands that could use the extra publicity that these tapes would provide... the types of bands that would be playing the "club scene" that Laura wanted to record.
And guess what... Laura didnt ask for your opinion on whether she should do it... she asked for advice on a camera. You didnt help in any way with answering the origial question.
Also... guess what? It's not illegal to video a band without permission from the band or the club. You dont know. You make a bunch of ignorant assumptions and then try to show off your "knowledge".
There could be a police officer standing beside you watching you tape the performance, and it isn't illegal. It is the same as tresspassing... it is not illegal until the owner of the copyright for the music files a charge against you for it.
You dont know sh_t about the legalities surrounding the topic you are trying to talk about... so find better posts to respond to, alright man?
Laura: Most bands do not object to the selling of these videos for a "reasonable price". The types of bands that you are talking about most likely have no live videos out. Most bands dont, popular or otherwise.
So yea, go for it, why not. As far as camera selection... there are smaller, easier to sneak into concerts video cameras, im sure... but they are REALLY expensive... i recommend a normal average video camera in a backpack.
They (the club/band/venue)have no right to confiscate your belongings, under any circumstances. They can tell you not to bring them in, if they see them, but the worst real punishment they can enforce without taking you to court over it is to not allow you into the club.
Dont listen to all these self-righteous people that dont even know what the hell they are talking about. Go for it if you want... hope i helped... enjoy.
