Your agent's firm may have a "house video" company that they use. For example, the startup GoLookInside.com signed a contract to do all of Cendant Corp's. home tour videos, at a very low price (about $200). Cendant is a huge corporation that owns Century 21 and a bunch of other big name real estate outfits.

Most real estate agents don't make enough, either on an annual basis or on a per-commission basis, to justify a high-priced video home tour. Unless you can put together a business model like GoLookInside's, where you are only on site for an hour, and produce a very basic, very simple, 30 second video, you may find it difficult to sell agents on the idea of a video for all but the most expensive homes.

I do see quite a few "virtual tours" of homes on the web. These aren't video, but digital photos taken in such a way as to allow the viewer to pan the image through 360 degrees. I suspect most of them were taken by tech-savvy agents themselves.

Thanks for the reply ... The answer of $200 was kinda what I was looking for... I have a real estate company asking- I was thinking in the realm of $99 a pop... ... I am guessing I may be in the right field... maybe I can make it a rate according to the selling price... say $99 for every 250,000 on the house... that is more feasible... ??

thanks again...

That is exactly what my agent did when I sold my house last year. She came in with Kodak Easy Share and took pictures in the center of every room facing each direction. The software on the website they use transitions from photo to photo creating the illusion of a video.

Does anyone see a market to create a 30 second promo spot for Realtors to post or stream on thier websites where they talk to their potential prospects when they go to their sites? Something like a package at $500? we script it shoot it and away you go??

Something like a package something similar like weddings??
Just curious...

Re: [HDMedia1] Real Eastate Pricing... [In reply to] Can't Post

The real estate video market is a tough one. Realtors and agents now have to contend with lots of competing real estate web sites and For Sale By Owner deals. They also have to split their commissions with other realtors more than in the past. I sold and bought three years ago when the market was hot and even though the realtors cut their commissions to keep my business. I would not expect to make any money doing real eastate videos.

Is anyone out there making a profit with this market?

I would guess that your only real chance in this market is the expensive houses (in my area, 800K+ for a house, many at 1.2 million and up) where it requires a buyer that may not be local, but doesn't want to "bother" to fly out to look at his new 2nd home (or 3rd, or 4th...) without having more information. Whether there is a market for this or not I don't know, but my guess is that this is the type of real estate that would support an investment in a "sales" video that can be sent to remote locations.
