Why limit yourself to companies in and around Mississippi? Unless the production company is based in the town you want to shoot in, you're still faced with hotel and meal expenses. Find a company you want, even if they're located several states away and fly them in. I fly all over the world for clients and they don't blink an eye. They like my work and I can actually save them money over hiring a local crew. If you're serious, check out my companys web site. If you like what you see, send me an e-mail and I'll send you our rates. www.horizonvp.com is the web address.

Well, I do a lot of local work. I think you need to hire local and keep your dollars in your own state. For us in the South, that's a big deal.

Ben,
I agree with you to a point. Most of my work is local as well but I've found that people want to work with those that they trust and those who deliver a high standard of quality. Not to say that you don't but I've had clients who have been burned once too many times by hiring local crews "just to save a few bucks" and have the quality of the work suffer. One of my clients at IBM now refuses to work with any overseas or local crews because he's been burned four or five times. He uses my company exclusivly because he knows the quality of our work. I just returned from a nine day European shoot for this client. In addition, many times the price of a local crew is much higher than my rates, so the little extra he pays for my travel expenses is peanuts compared to the piece of mind he gets by using me.

StogTv can probably refer you to a local professional or
