Assuming your talking about a video rental store, put it in a shopping center too small for Blockbuster. They like to open next door to mom & pop shops and put em out of business.

Hellos-
I am also considering opening a video store. I did a bit of
franchise research, and its really not afordable ($400K...) but
I haven't been able to find a good estimate on what amount would
be necessary to go independant (from inventory to insurance to
help....)? Where are you looking> what state? I'm in NJ, which
will undoubetly be very expensive rentwise. I really am just
beginning to research- is it even legal to just buy movies and
rent them, or would you need to buy official copies from
distributors with liscensing rights....?

I am also trying to open a video store, I found this group to be of some help. I could sure use the names of some distributors in the Denver area if you know of any. Good luck hope you do great.

I have a friend who own a franchise "Lion Video" in the chicagoland area.. Contact me if you need info or help starting up
