Video Product Marketing Position

Hello all, I could use your advice here. I am applying for a Director of Video Marketing position, which entails picking a video product line (video cameras/ camcorders, accessories, software etc) and working with advertising department to make as many sales as possilbe (obviously), I have a degree in Engineering. However I am inexperienced in that area, but I posses extensive knowledge of selling video to corporate or wedding clients (have been doing it for 5 years). I tried to explain to my interviewer that its all similar, but I don't think it went to well. They are still undecided. How would you "attack" this through email or a letter? I was thinking maybe bullet points, with my strengths, and I am pretty sure they don't want to hear I will learn this in a heartbeat. Position Description: Senior Product Marketing Manager / Digital Video We are seeking a person with at least 5 years experience in the digital video area along with a marketing background. Responsibilities: I PUT IN ALL CAPS INFO PERTAING TO MY EXPERIENCE • Lead development efforts for digital video product line NO EXPERIENCE • Execute, support and maintain a life cycle for new video products NO EXPERIENCE • Provide sales support and training for company EXPERIENCED • Oversee product selection, pricing, margin and marketing of product line EXPERIENCED IN VIDEO PRODUCTION REQUIREMENTS Required Qualifications: • Knowledgeable in all aspects of video & digital video products YES • 3-5 yrs. Experience in product management, marketing and retail sales YES • Background in video/broadcasting YES • Proven ability to drive sales and make profit for company YES • Excellent communication skills YES • Strategic planning skills YES • Skilled in pricing and profit margins for product lines YES IN DIGITAL VIDEO PRODUCTION
