Website design? Can't Post

Well, this isn't video related, but still...

My wife started a real estate business last year, and it's beginning to do pretty well. She wants to put up a website.
She works for Long and Foster as an independent agent. The company has signed a deal with a web design firm, who offers template-based sites to the agents, for an annual fee. Their packages range from about $300 to $1,000 per year, depending on how many templates you get to choose from, how often they submit your site to the search engines, and what marketing tools are included in the package.
As far as I can see, the main advantage they offer is that if you use them, your site will link to the multiple listing service using an "IDX search page".
I'd be interested in what other designers could offer, especially if the ability to link to the MLS can be included. Any leads?
