: I'm working to get my wedding and marketing video business up and going. I was wondering how useful are cold calls to local businesses and organization concerning marketing and training videos?
I had a partner, years ago, who swore by the Law of Large Numbers.
He loved cold calls (I was partner in an ad agency) and he was
the guy responsible for new business. He figured that if he
made 100 calls, he'd get between five and 10 appointments. Out
of those, we'd make one sale. It does work, BUT...
1. You have to like making cold calls (most people don't)...
2. You have to remember the value of persistance...
3. You can't allow yourself to take a "No!" personally...and
4. You've got to walk in with a great presentation.
