fees for existing footage Can't Post

I have been approached by a producer to provide some footage
of wild birds for a nature documentary. I have no idea how to determine the value of raw footage, and realize there are many factors that go into figuring out a fair price. Can anyone provide some guidelines?

Re: fees for existing footage Can't Post

I would check with existing stock footage companies many of whom
are on the web. You may be shocked to see how and how much they
charge for the *use of their footage. Put together similar terms,
but cut your prices to perhaps half or a third of what they charge.
See how the producer reacts. If he or she knows the business, they
should be pleased. Good luck.
