how to get gigs as a freelance field producer

I have worked as a field prodcer on television documentaries for the last 7 years, however I have only worked for one company. We lost our prodution contract in 2004 so now I am forced to look for more work. The company I worked for was based out of L.A. but I live in Seattle. Having put "all my eggs in one basket" for the past several years I never developed any contacts in my own neighborhood. Now I need to find work here. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to land a good gig? What would you do if you were in my shoes? Anyone in this area need an experienced producer? I've been doing all the typical networking but I want to streamline my efforts to make my job search more effective! I'd appreciate anyone's advice.
