mini dv to dvd	Can't Post

I want to transfer mini dv video to DVD or VCD, but ULead videostudio 5.0 wrote very big file (10min, 2Gbytes), how can I write a smaller file but don't lose the resolution, which program is the best, which format is the best, which ?X? (720*480...) is the best?

to keep the size small. you have to capture it to a vcd or mpeg
only some capture card or firewire card in this case allow this.
