I've never shot one before, but we've been hired to shoot one for the local junior college's continuing ed dance program, and we're starting small at $16 per tape. The videotapes are a fund raiser for them, so we wanted to make sure they could do just that...also, we're picking up where someone who did a VERY poor job left off. Be very careful how you shoot dance recitals... we're using a two-camera setup, like we would for a wedding-- one getting the 'big picture' and one getting the close-up shots. Then we'll edit... What we did to ensure we'd get this job is to shoot a rehearsal, edit it beautifully (my partner gets full credit on that end of it--I'm mean it turned out amazing!), and then let the dance students and their parents watch the next week at class--they all pre-ordered tapes (the dance instructor said she saw some of the parents in tears after they watched our rehearsal demo video!). By keeping the cost as low as we can, we'll get the job again in the future... : Anyone shooting dance recitals? How do you determine cost? : Thank you, : Al W
