What about the vertical resolution on the supposed "true" PS? In general PS at the cameraside is the result of one single exposure cycle per frame period (1/30 or 1/25 sec). The resulting CCD charges can then be read out in a couple of ways. 1. Read-out(and buffer) the whole CCD structure (needs a full frame buffer which is in most camcorders not available). This is however the only right way to get full (vertical)resolution PS. 2. Do it the Canon way (a kind of vertical green pixel shift):this approach avoids the full buffer need and results in acceptable vertical resolutions. 3. Read out(and buffer)only the odd or the even field. The missing field can be added by interpolation (slightly less vert res than 2),or by just applying line repetition in the buffered field which halfs the vertical resolution. So, vert res is the main parameter in "true"(which is seldon true) PS. Andre : THIS LINK TO A WEBSITE SHOWS A REVIEW OF THE PD150 CLAIMING A TRUE PROG MODE SIMILAR TO CANON'S FRAME MODE. IS THIS TRUE PD150 OWNERS ???? : : -ADAM-
