Adjusting shutter speed and aperture Can't Post

My propblem is when it comes to adjusting shutter speeds and aperture at the same time. I can do both on their own fine its just when I want say 1/250 with f.3.5 i can only get one without the other unless I use the gain control (is this the aperture controller) I know that there is aperture in the AE function as well as shutter in the shutter function. But I can only adjust one not both. How can I go around this? Do I just use the gain control on front of camera to control my aperture? What do you suggest.

It's not be a problem on the VX2K. Any combinations of shutter speed and aperture are possible. However, you must set the shutter speed before you set the aperture. First put the Auto Lock - Hold switch in the middle position. Then push the shutter speed button and set the desired speed using the thumb wheel at the back of the camera. Then push the exposure button on the left of the camera body and set your exosure using the thumb wheel next to it. Bingo. Lock the setting if you wish by putting the Auto Lock-Hold switch in the Lock position. If you don't do this and you push the exposure button, the camera will return to auto exposure. Exposure and gain cannot be set separately. Gain begins when the iris is fully open and you keep turning the wheel.
