Audio dubbing with vx1000 Can't Post

Sorry folks I am disturbing you with my stupidity. I am an idiot who can not figure out how can I record an audio sound to the original sound on a tape (ST2) by connecting an external mic if I wanna use my VX1000 as a recorder and no DV cable. SONY is telling me I can use A/V cable but it is not true there is only "output" connection. The record button is active only if the DV cable is connected.
Thanx a lot. And do not laugh at me please I am just 17 :-))

Your not the idiot, the guy at Sony is! You cannot "audio dub" with the VX1000. You will need a DV editing VCR for this.
