Batteries for VX1000 Can't Post

Hi there this is my first post here so be niceSmile

I have a vx1000e and wanted to get a new battery for it. I have been looking on ebay but none of the batteries there are sony brand. has anyone ever got one of these third party batteries? are they any good?

Also what battery models can i go for? What I would like to get is one with the longest record time that is still internal in the camera.

Any info and advice would be a great help. Thanks

Re: [jimjim] Batteries for VX1000 [In reply to] Can't Post

there are heaps of original sony battery though in ebay... search for NP-F720 but i do recommend NP-F970 with 12hrs operation hours... really cool battery power. It is truly original and costs about US$47-50 Exc shipping. Buying non original does not really affect the camcorder as far i know coz i have been using non iriginal battery for a number of years and things seem going ok. The problem with non original battery is their lifetime, perhaps it will be in the trash bin half the life of original one.

Re: [TeQ] Batteries for VX1000 [In reply to] Can't Post

thanks for replaying to my post TeQ. I have been looking at the F970 on ebay and their seem to be plenty but my concern is that they look as though they would not fit inside the battery bay of my VX1000. DO you use your F970 with a VX1000?

Also does anyone know what the difference is better the NP-F730 & NP-F730H?

Re: [jimjim] Batteries for VX1000 [In reply to] Can't Post

yes i do use np-f970 battery bought from local retailer and it is one proper battery for shooting instead of plenty np-f730 batteries in ur bag like bullets. One replaces all. Abt the H, im not positive but i do know that H is for high energy. Well i got 2 NP-F730 one is infolithium and another is high energy...while i dont see any difference and i do curious as well wat is the difference. I dare not make any assumption at this stage so any hint is appreciated =)

Re: [TeQ] Batteries for VX1000 [In reply to] Can't Post

im very confused as to how the 970 will fit inside a vx1000 as it looks to big for the whole. I'm using a np-720 at the moment and that fills up the battery bay so anything bigger can't fit.

Re: [jimjim] Batteries for VX1000 [In reply to] Can't Post

The 970 will NOT fit the VX1000. The only batts that fit are the 720 and 730. SOme folks have ground away the side rails in the battery compartment inside the camera to accept the 750 but that has also killed a couple cameras. If you want to try it you MUST remove the battery compartment from the camera and do the grinding away from the cam and clean all the chips and dust completely from it before reinstalling.
