Do all the 3CCD cameras like the VX 1000 and VX 2000 and GL1 have record buttons on the handle?

As a matter of fact, no, the only of the three you mentioned with a record button on the handle is the GL1 although it would be a nice feature for sony to add to their products.

I can't answer for the VX2000, but my PD-150 (pro model of the VX2000) does have a record button on the handle. This has come in very handy for holding the camera low to the ground and aiming the LCD up for veiwing.

I can't find the record button on the handle of my PD-150. Are you referring to the 2nd record button that is 3 inches in front of the zoom control?

You got it. I find that I have to use my index finger to use it, so it's not placed entirely convenient. When I do record at low levels to the ground, I'm not too concerned about exactly when I start and stop recording; this I can fix in post.
