Can't get VX2K to balance on Steadicam JR Can't Post

I have a VX2000 with a Canon wide angle lens on a Steadicam JR. And I don't care what Steadicam says -- this thing is TOO TOP HEAVY to balance on a JR.
Has anyone been able to get a VX2000 with a Canon wide angle lens to balance properly on a Steadicam JR?????
Please help - I leave for Italy in less than 3 weeks and I've got to get this thing working before then.
Thanks,
Wayne

Sorry, I use a glide cam very successfully but...
I did have a JR awhile ago and here is my thought.
You probably don't put the batteries in the JR if you use the pop out screen of the 2000. If you don't, be sure to put the batteries in for the extra balance weight. Also feel free to tape some extra weights on top of the bottom end because you probably ran out of space to put the weights in the compartment supply.
Hope this helps, let us all know how it turns out or what the final answer is.
Thanks,

OK, I gave up trying to balance the Steadicam, JR so.....
I just ordered a Glide Cam 2000 Pro. It will be here by the end of the week. How do I set it up? Which weights and what settings? You do use it with a Wide Angle lens don't you.

Yes, I use a Kenko wide angle.
I only put 3 rings on each side and extend the rod down just under 3 inches. I also put the rings as far apart from each other so there is more control. The top plate is pushed back a little more than an 1 and 1/4 inch.
The big thing to remember is to not put more than 3 rings on each side. Others have put them all on and that is crazy. You don't want to carry more than you have to.
