FAKE VX-2000?! Can't Post

Hi everyone. Today I was camera shopping and I found a place that sells VX2K for $2,110. This seems to good to be true. Is it? A friend of mine told me to watch out because some companies have been found selling "fake" sony products. Do you think the camera is genuine? The salesperson sounded kind of shady. The place is called Royal Camera. Please check it out for me and tell me what you think. I want to buy this camera ASAP but I don't want to pay alot. In fact $2,110 is perfect for me. Thanks, Robert

Re: FAKE VX-2000?! Can't Post

I found my VX-2000 for $2300 by searching www.pricegrabber.com
It works fine. I'm not familiar with Royal Camera though.
Here is a link with many sources from $2139-3000 for the VX-2000. They have some feedback on most of the outlets.
The smaller stores don't have the overhead and can sell them cheaper but as always-buyer beware. If you have a problem with the camera you send it to Sony not the store.
Hope this helps--Jim

Robert,
I did see Royal Camera listed on that pricegrabber link (for a little more but when I checked the homepage for Royal Camera it was the price you posted). Jim

If you are near a Sony outlet, ask them for a VXC-2000 b stock.

Robert:
Don't mess with Box Houses, you will only pay more in the end with problems.
Contact Armatos, www.armatos.com They may charge a bit more but their reputation is impecable and they have a great loaner program is you should have a problem.
Also, you can talk to Paul Armato, the owner of the business, try that with a box house.
Hope this helps,
Gene Varner
