GL1 Can't Post

What is the video/audio quality of the Canon GL1? What is it compared to the VX 1k/2k or the TRV900

Re: GL1 Can't Post

My personal opinion is that the vx1000 is nicer than the gl1 and 900 so i'd assume the 2000 is too, but i haven't seen footage from that camera before. trv900 supposedly has higher resolution than the gl1 but i think it's way too sharp. i don't like the trv900 image that much. it looks really flat. GL1 definitely has a nice image. i don't think you'd be disappointed with it. if u can though try to watch footage with all of the cameras.

I completely disagree. I have used all 3 of these cameras and in my opinin, the GL1 is better. You see, many people dislike the GL1 because they don't know how to work the controls. If you know how to use this camera in manual mode, you will love the results. However, the GL1 sucks during extreme lowlight conditions. Either way you can't go wrong.

Yes I have used all 3 also, and my personal opinion is the 1000 is better. Please do not imply that i don't know how to use my GL1 to validate your opinion. I am perfectly capable of using my gl1 in manual mode, and do so 99.9% of the time. Respect the fact that people don't all think like you. You have ur opinion and I have mine.

P.S. weren't you about to buy a vx2000 not too long ago because u were dissatisfied with your gl1?

Funny, all this time I thought it was because it was a generally inferior camera, IMO. ;-)

Yes, but you see here is what I found. The reason I was having second thoughts about my camera is because it was so messed up. But now that it is fixed, I loce it. I don't need any smart ass remarks from you, you film rollerblading for god's sake!

Oh no!!!!! I film rollerblading. shoot me now. I wouldn't have made the smartass comment if you wouldn't have tried to tell me (a complete stranger to you)that I don't know how to operate my camera just to validate your opinion. Even worse, you have to rely on irrelevant insults to make yourself feel better which makes you look even weaker.
If it makes you feel any better I film skateboarding too. even made a video. stop being so closeminded.

Why does your fisheye have so much vignetting?

What kind of camera was that skateboard footage filmed with?

Re: GL1 [In reply to] Can't Post

Because I have the old century fisheye for the trv900. I had that lens before I got my gl1 and I just haven't been able to come up with the money to replace it with the proper lens yet. The vignetting isn't as bad on the tv as it is there though due to tv's overscanning the images. but it's still a nuisance which i why i'd like to get the lens made for the GL1.

Also... [In reply to] Can't Post

Are there any skate videos that are shot with a GL1 that I could see before I buy it?

Re: hey brady [In reply to] Can't Post

Hey, yeah, that was all shot with a GL1. I believe E.S.T. was filmed mostly with GL1's. So you might wanna check that out. and if i'm not mistaken i think the jeremiah babb section in progression 3 was filmed with a gl1. not 100% sure on that one but i can prolly find out.
