The article is correct but hardly 'news'
This information has been around since 1995. I have sold a couple hundred of the Sony RM-95 wired LANC "for adjustment" remotes since 1996, at least half to European countries including even Estonia for unlocking the DV-In on the VX-1000s.

I read there`s a way to check the hours of camera usage using RM-95...can your wired remote check my vx1000 NTSC recording head usage? do you have the instruction for that? and how much if u wish to sell one?

Yes you can check head hours and also yhe number of time tapes have been loaded and ejected with the RM-95. I do have the instructions, they are a bit involved but very simple if you follow the step by step instructions.
