How do you clean your PD or VX? Can't Post

Just ordered my first Sony VX2100 (and probably last, since the next camera I buy will be HD). What do you use to clean it? Any recommendations, tips, links, etc.? To this day, I usually just use the little bulb blower for the lens, sometimes I swipe it with a lens cleaning towel (don't know what those guys are called) and as for the heads... Well, I've never cleaned mine. I haven't used my current camcorder that much, and I haven't had any problems with it. Does anyone use a filter on the lens to protect it from scratches and dirt?

I'd like to take good care of my new camera, but I don't know what's really necessary.

Grateful for any responses.

Yes, I definately recommend you put a filter on for protection. That way you will virtually never need to touch the lens and risk damaging it. In fact, a few years ago, I gave up on lens caps too. They were always getting in the way or just a bother when I was grabbing the cam in a hurry. So I just let the protection filter serve the same purpose.

What filter do you put on the lens? Is it like a film, or a piece of glass? And how does that work if I want to slap a wideangle lens ontop of it all? Is one brand better than the other? (I have lots of questions, as you can see...)

For the outside of my customers camera's I'll use either 409 or a Windex type product and spray onto the cloth before wiping it down. I go through a lot of Q-Tips as well. A lot of these cameras have been on fishing or hunting shoots and they're filthy. I wouldn't recomend any head cleaning unless you really know what you're doing. The 1000 is a pain to get to. The 200, 2100, 150, etc are a little easier but still require quite a bit of disassembly. If you get into say a DSR-1 or equivalent accessing the drum is much easier but I still wouldn't recommend cleaning it unless you're experienced
