Looking for camera mount mic. Can't Post

The miniDV camera's built-in mic is very sensitive. It picks up _everything_ noise in back of the camer, the sound of hands on the camera controls and so on. I want to shoot sometimes in a niosy environment with a wide angle lens hand held. I want a mic that will capture only what is in the field of view. So I don't need a long shootgun mic but the built in omni is only good for capturing ambient sound. Sony and others make many on-camera stereo mics with 90 degree pattrns but which are good? Which are not?
