NP-F550	Can't Post

Hi, I'm trying to buy some new batteries for my VX1000, but I'm not sure if the 'NP-F550' will be compatible. I want long life batteries and don't want to buy 5 NP-330s if there are longer lasting batteries available for this camera. I know I've seen them on Ebay, but I can't for the life of me remeber what the model number was.

The only battery currently made that works with the VX1000 is the NP 730

The VX1000 is a battery hog at least as compared to the VX2000/2001. I use the NP-730 and the NP-720, a High Energy - non Lithium battery. I don't know if they make the 720 anymore. It won't work in most Sony cameras which use only Lithium batteries. I do have a couple of 330 floating around but they are almost useless with a VX1000.

The best battery I've found for the vx1000 is found at amazon- http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000X66ZU/qid=1104259807/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/104-4475834-1040713?v=glance&s=electronics

It lasts around 3 hours(3700mAH), the best vx1000 battery there is and it's only $54 with free shipping from Amazon.

When buying batteries always look at how many mAH it is(mAh is the amount of power)
-2800mAH is pretty low
-3000mAH is ok
-3700mAH is the best you can get in a np-f730 replacement battery
