Odd problem, please help. Can't Post

I'm having a weird problem with my camera, and it started today (first day filming after replacing the ribbon cable). First of all, my settings were having the custom color balance at 3/4's the way up and having it set like that on the evf (viewfinder settings) also, with the brightness 1/2 way on the evf settings. My friend was wearing a bright red shirt, and it seemed to be "glowing" like there was a red blur around the shirt, it was very strange. I put the settings down to 1/2 on both the viewfinder and custom color balance, and when I reviewed some of the footage doing edit search on the vx, it appeared the same. But when I checked on my zr20 (capture/review cam) it looked fine, but more overexposed. Is there a problem with my new ribbon cable? Please tell me anything you think might be going wrong.
Thanks,
Galen

I guess I would try to use the camera in it's factory settings and see if the you get the same results. I'm not sure why you would even adjust the EVF settings. Since that has no effect on the outcome. Leave the EVF at factory and try not to custom color balance. Do a manual white balance and try that. It simply sounds like you're overdriving the red.

well, I changed the evf settings along with the Custom settings so that I would see exactly what I was recording. thanks a lot for the help, I'll see if it works out.

Just an FYI. By changing the EVF settings you're actually seeing a misrepresentation of what you're actually recording since it has no bearing on what the camera is seeing. I hope that helps.
