I have a 150 that I use as a backup (which means I never use it!) but I got a Canon WD-58 wide angle converter from Armatos for it. It works well for the money - you don't want to get a cheap one. I didn't remember how much it cost, so I did a quick Google search and I see it's going for about $180. It magnifies 0.7X. If you're outside in daylight, you'll have a tiny f-stop, so it'll be totally sharp from edge to edge. It's pretty sharp wide open as well. A bunch of people in my local association have the same one.

I did some snow recording years ago, and I think you'd only need a wide adapter if you're going to ski/board right along side someone. If you're stationary, and they're going past you, I don't think you'll need the wide angle.
