PD 170 color changed against blue frame Can't Post

I use a pd 170 for recording a data show apresentention.
When i make a shot whit the shutter speed in automatic and the iris in manual operation and make a shot against the frame of the data show projector, the colors of the image im my cam begins changed (blue, green, yellow, etc). I use the vx 1000 for many years and i never see that.
But when i enable shutter speed button in the pd 170 the colors stop changed.

Anybody see this thing?

Was the camera in auto white balance? That could explain the shifting of colors.

NO. The withe balance is on the preset or lock. In all the position of the white balance the color change happens.
The only way thath i find to stop this. Is if the shutter speed is locked. If shutter speed is an automatic position. The problem occours.
We have 3 pd 170. And all make this thing.

Consumer and low-end DLP projectors have a color wheel that physically rotates at a set speed. Light must pass through that wheel to project color images. Newer DLP's spin the color wheel faster, and thus exhibit less flicker. My guess is that your camera is getting confused by the flicker rate of the projector (perhaps it is an older model with a slow color wheel).

So shoot it with a locked shutter. Problem solved.

When you are putting the shutter speed in AUTO mode, what could be happening is that the shutter may be going at 180 or more. When the shutter operates that fast, it will start giving you variances of color temperature, and you will see W/B fluctuations even when you are recording. It is not unusual. The solution: Shoot at shutter speeds lower than 180.
