Problem with my VX1000 head? Can't Post

To everyone dedicated to VX1000, please help me solve my vx1000 problem...I purchased a used vx1000, do some recordings and when i notice the playback, the capture result seems to be a lot of squares and disruption...The disruption is not just a second or two but perhaps pretty long...about 15minutes bad capture out of 60minutes total recording....it seemed to be head being dirty but eventhough i have cleaned it up, the problem seems to be still exists...what is the problem? Is this the syndrome of head clogging? Or i need to replace my camcorder head? or maybe worse the circuit board needs replacement?
If i have to replace the head, how much is the original sony vx1000 head (say, roughly) also, im using NTSC version and living in Australia, will PAL and NTSC head be the same? Please advise...

Thx
