RT editing in DV, are always RT or only in Analog ? Can't Post

I would like to know if real-time card , such RT2000 and the DV 500 are really full RT in DV mode , because i saw that the DV 500 need to render when it was in Dv and it was Real time when in analog... So anybody can help ?
And of course, wich is the best between these 2 card. ?
