Some more info... There is some info on the dynamic range, exposure lattitude,..w,r.t.TRV900 here http://www.bealecorner.com/trv900/tech/transfer.html. Result is about 30 to 40 db (5 to 6 stops) for the TRV 900. Some HAD structures in pro cams get 70/80 db lattitude (10 stops!). I don't know what the measured DR is for the VX2000...but I think better than 40. The ND choice isn't all that critical when you are in the "doubt" zone. It only affects potential resolution, which becomes diffraction limited for these small CCD structures for f-stops higer than +/- 6. Andre : Michael: : I certainly benefited from your posts. There are a few things I don't like about the VX-2000 too, the 2 levels of ND being one of them. It seems like the camera can't make up it's mind whether it wants ND1, 2 or off outside sometimes. My TRV-900 didn't fluctuate near as much. I agree also that the flip out screen isn't much good outdoors and I always use the eyepiece. I only use the flip out when I have it on a tripod in the car while chasing hurricanes or tornadoes. (got to make a living) As far as audio, I can't tell the difference between 12bit and 16bit. (Even though every little bit helps!) My apologies if I appeared to be critical of one camera over the other. : I'm waiting for the next question, "Which is better Sony or Canon's XL1". Yikes!
