Software similar to Final Cut Pro?? Can't Post

Hello I was just wondering if anyone knows of any great quality editing software for a PC. I looked into Final Cut Pro which seems like a really nice program, but it is only for Mac. Does anyone know anything similar to this software, but for the PC? I would greatly appreciate it.

How is the quality and everything for Adobe Premiere 6.0? Do i need a ieee 1394 PCI slot for it, or does it come with one?

Stay away from Premiere 6.0, most of the capture card manufacturers (Canopus, Pinnacle etc) don't have working or certified drivers available yet, making it mostly worthless.

: If your just looking for software for your PC - Premiere is probally the way to go. I don't know what "Christian Zane" is talking about with the drivers issue. Canopus has beta drivers available and permanent drivers on the way. You will need a capture card (premiere comes only with software). Check out the DV-Raptor made by Canopus (hardware + software) it comes bundled w/Premiere and works great (around $400 bucks). If you have further questions check out Canopus users forum at Canopuscrop.com......

What am I talking about??? Here is a direct quote from Canopus themselves, you are the only person I know who can get Premiere 6.0 to work 100% properly with the Raptor or Rex:
Dear Concerned users,
In response to recent concerns about the delayed release of Adobe Premiere 6.0 drivers from Canopus, we
offer the following explanation:
Compatibility issues between hardware manufactures and editing software companies have become hot topics
around the editing suites in recent months. Canopus Corporation prides itself on producing the highest
quality products available. Our release of the Adobe Premiere 6.0 drivers is no exception. We have worked
with Adobe on the new software update for the last several months and expect to have a solution in the
coming days.
During the development of the Adobe Premiere 6.0 drivers our engineering team discovered that one of the
new features offered unsatisfactory results. After testing the real-time audio mixing feature our
engineering team felt the delay users would experience while mixing audio would only cause frustration.
Canopus was not satisfied with this feature; therefore we decided not to include it in the first release of
the drivers. This does not mean that we will not support this feature in the future. This new solution may
involve developing additional hardware products to support a real-time result. Our engineering team will
continue to work closely with Adobe on a satisfactory solution. We will keep you informed as to our
progress.
A number of you have been asking about the “ALT-Scrubbing” feature. We have plans to make this
function available within the Adobe Premiere 6.0 drivers for the DVRexRT Professional, DVRexRT (Includes
Mega Production Bundle), and DVStorm. The DVRaptor, EZDV and DVRex M-1 product will be delayed slightly due
to some additional programming that is required.
As stated earlier in this document, Canopus will continue to develop new and improved products alongside
Adobe in the coming months. We want to offer the best and most functional products to our customers. It is
not our practice to ship poorly planned and dysfunctional products. Please accept our apologies for being
late on the release of the 6.0 drivers. We hope you feel the wait was worth it.
Thanks again for your continued support of Canopus products.

: Relax Mr. Zane life is to short to throw a hissy fit over editing software. As your qoute stated Canopus is working on new Drivers and expect to have them available in "coming days"(almost exactly what I said in my post). 6.0 works fine on it's own. I have had NO problems with the software. I offered my opinion and you offered yours. Try not to turn this into a pissing match.

Adobe Premiere is again another pissy/fussy program that will work sometimes and sometimes will not. My personnal experience with both Adobe Premiere and DVRaptor RT has been dismal. If you want to save yourself from a big headache stay away from these products!!
