Sony VX2100 Trouble Can't Post

I have 2 symptoms and was wondering if anyone has run into this trouble:

1)Firewire no longer outputs or inputs a signal

2)Since problem one has occurred, any tape recorded on the VX2100 must only be played back on the VX2100 and analog (S-Video)only.

Until this trouble, I could play back VX 2100 recordings on my other units, but now the screens are black with no audio or video unless played back on the VX2100.

Thanks

This may be a dumb response but check your connection to the camera. Mine are starting to wear inside the camera connection and don't always make a good connection.

I had my VX2100 looked at and an $800 board needs to be replaced to fix the firewire circuit. So, I will continue using it without firewire.

Thanks

Try laying the camera on its side so that it bends the connecting cord a little bit. This will force it to make a connection. I would hate for you to think it is the $800 board if it is just the connection at the camera......disregard if this was already tried.
